What Is The Role Of Food In Eliminating Or Shrinking Fibroids

Fibroids refer to abnormal growths in the area of the uterus. They are also termed uterine fibroids, leiomyomas, and myomas. Fibroids are not life-threatening or cancerous.  But sometimes, they lead to serious problems of health and other complications.

Fibroids develop around and in the walls of the uterus. They are made of tissues and muscles. They may grow in a size greater than a tennis ball or tiny like a seed. A Woman may have one or multiple fibroids. Doctors still do not know the exact cause that leads to the development of fibroids.

Obesity enhances your risk of developing fibroids. Moreover, low levels of some nutrients can also cause the development of fibroids. Doctors don’t know exactly what causes fibroids.

Having overweight can increase your risk, as does having low levels of some types of nutrients. This condition may be genetic also.

If your mother or sister is suffering from fibroids then you are at higher risk to develop fibroids. These fibroids can cause different complications and symptoms such as:

  • Heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Pain
  • Constipation
  • Anemia
  • Difficulty getting pregnant

Treatment of fibroids is not needed in most cases. The doctor may recommend you to wait and notice if fibroids disappear on their own. Foods cannot prevent or treat fibroids. A healthy lifestyle may play a good role in reducing the risks.

Diet also helps to balance the hormones that initiate the growth of fibroids. Certain foods help you to ease the symptoms of fibroids.

Lifestyle Changes And Diet To Reduce The Risk Of Fibroids

Many changes in the diet and lifestyle help you to decrease the risks of fibroids.

Following A Mediterranean Diet

Cook fresh green vegetable o consume. Eat fresh fruits, fish, and legumes. Research suggested that this diet helps you to decrease the risks of having fibroids. If you are eating lamb, beef, and other red meat then you may develop the risk of having fibroids.

Don’t Use Alcohol

If you want to keep yourself healthy then you have to cut back on the alcohol you use. Drinking may enhance the risk for fibroids. It happens because alcohol increases the level of hormones that promote the growth of fibroids.

The use of alcohol triggers the process of inflammation. Studies revealed that women who drink one more beer in one day develop the risk of having fibroids up to 50 percent. You have to avoid alcohol use to limit the risk of developing fibroids.

Keep Estrogen Balanced

Estrogen is necessary for healthy fertility in both females and males. But an excessive amount of estrogen can increase the risk of developing fibroids. It can also make your fibroids worse. There are many treatments that reduce the level of estrogen to treat fibroids.

Other ways that are used to balance the levels of estrogen are losing weight and avoiding the chemicals that are hormone-disrupting. These chemicals can cause severe issues for your reproductive health.

Low Blood Pressure

Research revealed that women with a high number of fibroids also suffer from high blood pressure. More research is needed in this area to find out the link between blood pressure and the risk of fibroids. It is important to balance your blood pressure to keep yourself healthy.

Get Vitamin D

You should get enough amount of vitamin D. It helps you to decrease the risks of fibroids to almost 32 percent. The human body works to produce this vitamin naturally. If you live in areas that have cooler climates then you may be more likely to face the deficiency of vitamin D.

Certain supplements help you to increase the level of vitamin D. Go to the doctor to take good supplements for you if you are facing a deficiency o vitamin D. Take these foods to enhance the level of vitamin D.

  • Yolks of egg
  • Fortified cereals
  • Cod Liver oil
  • Fatty fish for example tuna, mackerel, and salmon
  • Fortified orange juice
  • Dairy milk
  • Cheese

Don’t ignore the symptoms of getting fibroids. They can prove worse for you. Ask your doctor if you should take the treatment or fibroids will disappear by themselves.

If you want to enhance your reproductive health then go for a regular checkup after getting the more severe symptoms of fibroids. Keep noticing your symptoms if doctors have diagnosed you with fibroids and ask you that they will go away themselves.
